Swim Teams Host Alfred State on Senior Day

The Pitt-Bradford men's swimming team won its third straight dual Saturday, defeating Alfred State 149-112, while the women were edged 176-57.

The Panther men won a total of 11 events and set a Pitt-Bradford pool record in the 400-yard free relay.

Carey Behm was a double-winner, taking first in the 500-yard and 1,000-yard free swims. Nicholas Boyd won three events, finishing tops in the 50-yard free, 100-yard free and 100-yard butterfly races. Lucas Cerchiaro took first in the 200-yard free and butterfly events, and Corey Koss won the 100-yard back race. Koss and Cerchiaro tied for first in the 200-yard back, finishing in an identical time of 2:05.64.

The 400-yard free relay of Cerchiaro, Behm, Koss and Boyd finished in 3:22.49, besting the pool record held previously by Buffalo State. The 200-yard medley relay of Koss, Noah FrederickDevyn Condon and Mitchell Smith was also victorious.

In other results, Condon took second in the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard free and 200-yard butterfly, and Frederick was second in the 100-yard breast and 400-yard individual medley.

The women were led by senior Elizabeth Prager, who was honored prior to the start of the dual for her four-year career at Pitt-Bradford. It was the teams' final home dual of the season.

Prager won the 100-yard back and 200-yard back, and Rebecca Avery took first in the 100-yard butterfly.

Jillian Wright was runner-up in the 100-yard breast and 200-yard breast, Avery placed third in the 50-yard free and 100-yard free, and Wenjing Miao took fourth in the 100-yard breast and 100-yard back.

The 200-yard medley relay of Prager, Wright, Avery and Miao finished second.

The Pitt-Bradford swim teams wrap up the regular season next Friday at Penn State Behrend.
