Cerchiaro, Prager Shine in Dual Meet with Alfred

The Pitt-Bradford swimming teams returned to the water Friday night, hosting Alfred in a dual meet. The men dropped a 117-88 decision to the Saxons, and the women lost 95-54.

Elizabeth Prager led the Panther women with a pair of wins, finishing first in the 1,650-yard free and 200-yard backstroke. Jillian Wright and Rebecca Avery also registered individual wins. Wright was tops in the 200-yard breaststroke, and Avery took first in the 500-yard free.

On the men's side, the Panthers won five of 11 events, led by Lucas Cerchiaro finishing first in the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard butterfly.

Carey Behm won the 1,650-yard freestyle swim, and Nicholas Boyd took first in the 100-yard free by nearly two seconds.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Cerchiaro, Zachery France, Mitchell Smith and Nick Boyd finished first, and the 400-yard medley relay team of Corey Koss, Noah Frederick, Devyn Condon and Behm placed second.

Koss was runner-up in the 200-yard free and 200-yard backstroke races, and Condon finished second to Cerchiaro in the 200-yard butterfly.

Other runner-up showings included Boyd in the 50-yard free and Behm in the 500-yard free.

Pitt-Bradford will host Washington & Jefferson in a dual meet next Saturday at 1 p.m.
