Women's Swimming Falls to Cabrini in AMCC Opener

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's swimming team fell 144-104 to Cabrini in their AMCC-opener on Saturday afternoon. 

Despite falling in the meet, Panther's head coach, Ed Bahan, is encouraged by his team's performance this early in the season. 

"The team is continuing to swim at a very high level for the beginning of the season," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Ed Bahan. "We had many athletes at, or exceeding, their personal best times and that is very exciting." 

Jillian Wright led Pitt-Bradford with victories in the 100 breast (1:25.42) and 200 breast (3:00.42). She also added a personal best time of 6:03.37 to finish second in the 400 IM. 

Elizabeth Prager, Ann Confer, Ava Young, and Becky Avery finished second in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:33.88. 

Prager won the 1000 free with a time of 11:26.72. She also added victories in the 100 backstroke (1:05.88) and 500 free (5:56.76). 

Young finished first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:26.38.

Confer added a victory in the 50 free with a time of 25.63, more than two seconds ahead of the second place finisher from Cabrini.

The Panthers return to action Saturday, Oct. 31, to host Penn State Altoona at 1 p.m.
