Women's Soccer to Begin AMCC Slate with Alfred State

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team will begin their AMCC schedule on Saturday as they host Alfred State.

The Panthers are 0-4-1 so far on the season. They are coming off of a tough 4-1 loss to Elmira on Thursday. In the game, the Panthers were able to hold their hosts at bay through 50 minutes but saw the Soaring eagles score four goals in a 20-minute span to win the game. Senior Katie Anderton was able to get her first goal of the season in the final minute of play. Blasting home a shot from the 12-yard spot on a pass from Delaney Stowe. The Panthers have seen four players score goals, as Cassidy King scored against Cazenovia and freshman Carolelyn LaPrairie and Stowe scored in the Panthers 2-2 draw with Thiel. Emily Bethel has played the majority of the Panthers games in net, making 37 saves.

The Pioneers are 3-1 on the season. They are also coming off a game against Elmira, as they picked up a 2-1 win on Sunday. Alfred State has shown a balanced attack that has seen 7 players score early on, with 5 of them scoring twice. First-Year player Meghan Fisher has registered the most shots, with 11. Sierra Schofield has played the majority of the Pioneers' minutes in net. She has all three wins and has made 10 saves. 

The contest is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 p.m. on the Kessel Athletic Complex Soccer Field.
