BRADFORD, Pa. -- Senior Courtney Shade of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team has gained national attention for her performance last week, picking up a nomination for HEROSports.com's D3 Women's Soccer HERO of the Week, officials announced Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the Bradford native scored four goals to help power the Panthers to a 9-0 win over Hilbert.
Her four goals were the program's most in a single game since Melissa Smith scored the same amount against Hilbert on Oct. 28, 2014.
She also assisted a goal in the win.
Saturday, she followed up her strong offensive eruption with a goal on a penalty kick and an assist in a thrilling comeback 3-2 win over La Roche.
Fittingly, Shade was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Offensive Player of the Week.
Shade must win a fan vote in order to be named the HERO of the Week.
Fans can vote once per hour, per device. Voting closes Friday at 3 p.m.
