Courtney Shade Named AMCC Offensive Player of the Week

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Senior Courtney Shade of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her performance during the period of Oct. 1-7, conference officials announced Monday.

"Courtney has had some big games for us," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "She's not only been scoring, but also creating the opportunities for others to score. This recognition is well deserved."

The Bradford, Pa., native put together a huge week offensively, scoring four goals against Hilbert Wednesday and another on a penalty kick against La Roche Saturday.

Her terrific offensive week was crucial in the Panthers' 2-0 week in AMCC contests.

She also assisted one goal in each game.

Her four-goal performance was the program's most in a single game since Melissa Smith scored the same amount on Oct. 28, 2014.

Shade's seven goals scored in AMCC action rank second in the conference.

Pitt-Bradford now holds a 2-2-1 record in AMCC contents and remains in the conference playoff picture. The Panthers continue conference play with a road match Tuesday at Penn State-Behrend before returning home Saturday to play Franciscan.
