Panthers Look For Fourth-Straight Win As Alfred State Comes To Town Wednesday

BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team will play its final non-conference match of the season, welcoming Alfred State for its third-straight home game Wednesday.

The Panthers have won three games in a row, most recently defeating Penn State-Altoona, 3-1, Saturday in the team's first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game of the season. 

Kaitlyn Williams, Meghan Stuck and Abby Celesky scored a goal apiece in the win.

On Tuesday, the Panthers defeated Saint Vincent, 1-0, in overtime, earning the win on a goal 47 seconds into OT from Williams. 

With the victory, goalkeeper Sarah Dailey earned her conference-leading fourth shutout and was named the AMCC Defensive Player of the Week for the third-straight week. 

Stuck leads the team with three goals, while Celesky, Williams and Courtney Shade have scored two goals apiece.

Williams is the team leader with 19 shots, having put 12 on net.

Wednesday's action will begin at 4 p.m. 

About Alfred State:

  • The Alfred State Pioneers will enter the Kessel Athletics Complex with a 4-2 record, most recently falling, 1-0, at Penn State-Abington on Sunday.
  • The Pioneers boast a strong offense, averaging 3.67 goals per game and having outscored their opponents 22-5 so far this season. Their largest margin of victory came in a 9-0 win at SUNY Cobleskill (Sept. 3).
  • Michayla Salatel leads the team with five goals and Dannielle O'Buckley has scored four so far this season. Melissa Mineti (three), Darien Hooker (two) and Carissa Pompa (two) also have secured multi-goal seasons. Six other players have contributed a goal apiece.
  • In goal, Allison Danielak has started all six games and surrendered just four goals while making 19 saves. Kathryn Parsons is the second keeper and has played 45 minutes so far this season, making one save and surrendering a goal.
