Three In A Row: Dailey Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week For Third-Straight Week

BRADFORD, Pa. – For the third consecutive week, senior goalkeeper Sarah Dailey of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's soccer team has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for the period of Sept. 18-23, conference officials announced Monday.

"I think if you asked any player on the team, they would agree that this honor is well deserved," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "From the outside, everyone sees saves and shutouts, which have without a doubt been so important for us. However, from within we see a team leader who leads by example every practice and every game, who pushes herself and every other player on the team to be their best every day whether it's in practice or a game."

The Butler, Pa., native earned her fourth clean sheet of the season on Tuesday in the team's 1-0 overtime win. At the time of the game, she was the stand-alone leader in the AMCC with four shutouts.

On Saturday, she saved five shots and held Penn State-Altoona to one goal to help Pitt-Bradford to a 1-0 start in conference play.

For the week, Dailey earned nine saves. Her 67 stops are the fourth most in the conference so far this season.

She also carries the fourth-best goals against average at 1.32.

Pitt-Bradford will play next on Wednesday as Alfred State comes to the Kessel Athletics Complex.
