Dailey Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week For Second-Straight Week

AMCC Release

BRADFORD, Pa. – For the second straight week, senior goalkeeper Sarah Dailey has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for the period running from September 11-17, conference officials announced Monday.

"Sarah had some major saves in both games this week, especially in our match against Geneva on Friday," Head Coach Melissa Lincoln said. "She's constantly pushing herself to improve, and she always strives for excellence. Sarah is both an excellent goal keeper and a strong leader on this team."

The Butler, Pa., native stopped seven shots in the team's home opener Wednesday, surrendering just one goal for a tough 1-0 loss decision.

On Friday, Dailey tied her career high with 13 saves, keeping Geneva out of the net to back up a strong offensive showing for the 2-0 clean sheet.

Friday's win gave Dailey her third-straight shutout win on the road.

After collecting 20 saves on the week, Dailey now ranks second in the AMCC with 58 saves and is fifth with a 1.57 goals-against average. She has also saved 84.1 percent of all shots on goal, which is good for sixth best of any keeper in the conference.

The Panthers will begin a four-game home stand as they welcome Saint Vincent on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
