Sarah Dailey Earns AMCC Player of the Week Nod

Pitt-Bradford women's soccer player Sarah Dailey was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

It's the second time in the last four weeks the junior goalkeeper has earned the conference's weekly honor.

Dailey surrendered just one goal in 200 minutes of play last week while leading the Panthers to 1-0-1 record.

In the team's regular season finale against D'Youville, Dailey totaled seven saves, including two key stops in overtime, to help the Panthers to a 1-1 draw.

The Butler, Pa., native was sharp in the team's AMCC tournament victory over La Roche, posting her sixth shutout of the season while tallying nine saves. Three of the saves came in the game's closing minutes, helping send the Panthers to the semifinals for the eighth straight season.

On the year, Dailey ranks second in the league in shutouts and save percentage (.818). She is giving up just 1.40 goals per match and has 117 total saves, third-most in the AMCC.

Dailey and the Panthers will face No. 2 seed Pitt-Greensburg at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hempfield High School. The winner will advance to face either Penn State Behrend or Mt. Aloysius in the AMCC Championship game.
