Women's Soccer Tabbed Second in AMCC Preseason Poll

Pitt-Bradford women's soccer was picked to finish second in the recently released Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference preseason poll.

Penn State Behrend was tabbed to repeat as conference champions, followed by the Panthers and Pitt-Greensburg was selected third. LaRoche and D'Youville rounded out the top five.

The Panthers will be led by first-year head coach Marquis Walker, who comes from Hudson (Ohio) High School. In his final year at Hudson, Walker led the girls' soccer team to a 15-2-2 record and finished the season ranked seventh in the state among Division I programs.

A trio of junior all-conference selections return for the Panthers in goalkeeper Sarah Dailey and midfielders Kaitlyn Donnelly and Kaitlyn Williams. Dailey, the reigning AMCC Defensive Player of the Year, led the conference in shutouts with six and ranked second overall with an .807 save percentage. Donnelly, a first-team selection, and Williams, a second-team pick, return as the top goal scorers for Pitt-Bradford. Both accounted for six goals apiece in 2015, and Donnelly led the team with four assists.

Pitt-Bradford has made four straight trips to the AMCC championship match and won the conference regular season championship each of the last two years.

The Panthers open the 2016 season Friday, Sept. 2, at Saint Vincent, the first of five straight road contests to kick off the year.
