Smith headlines list of Lady Panthers awarded All-Conference

BRADFORD, Pa. – Pitt-Bradford sophomore forward Melissa Smith headlined a list of women's soccer players named to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Team on Tuesday morning, as voted on by the coaches.

Smith was recognized as the AMCC Offensive Player of the Year and received All-AMCC First Team honors for her outstanding season on the front end of the Panthers' attack. For the year, the sophomore registered a total of 30 goals and 11 assists to lead both Pitt-Bradford and the AMCC in each category.

Smith also led the AMCC in points scored with a final total of 71, and in number of shots taken, with a final tally of 99. She finished the season ranked third nationally in game-winning goals (10), sixth in total points (71), seventh in total goals (30), eighth in points per game (3.55) and ninth in goals per game (1.5).

Receiving All-AMCC Second Team accolades were junior forward Maggie Boehler, senior midfielder Casey Schimpf, junior defender Jamie Christensen and junior defender Tess Follman. Boehler finished second on the squad in goals (7), assists (7), shots (40), shots on goal (22) and game-winning goals (2). Boehler's seven assists ranked her fifth in the AMCC as well.

Schimpf, the lone senior on the squad, racked up five goals and five assists on the year for a total of 15 points. She fired 16 shots, 12 of which were on goal, for a shots-on-goal percentage of .750. Christensen was the anchor of the Panthers' defense for the duration of the season.

Statistically, she finished with three goals and took a total of 15 shots with one game-winning goal to her name. Follman tallied two goals and two assists for the season. She finished with 15 shots also, six of which were at the keeper.

Freshmen Kaitlyn Donnelly and goalkeeper Sarah Dailey each received All-AMCC Third Team honors in their first seasons in a Panther uniform. Donnelly made a statement in the Panthers' midfield from the opening game. She ended the year with one goal and six assists for a total of eight points. She fired 17 shots and received 15 starts in her rookie season.

Dailey exploded onto the scene between the posts for Pitt-Bradford. The freshman played and started in all 20 contests at her goalkeeper position. She finished the year with 90 total saves and ranked fifth in the AMCC with a .789 save percentage. Dailey totaled 1717:55 of game time in the net.
