The Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference released its annual list of All-Academic Team selections for the 2021-22 season on Tuesday. Four members of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford wrestling program were recognized by the conference for their achievement in the classroom.

Senior Matthew Ristau, senior Victor Elias, and sophomore Farhid Negahban earned the honor for the 2nd time in two seasons, while senior Tyler Newton was recognized in his first and only season with the program.

"The coaching staff and I are extremely proud of these guys for putting in the work required to be selected to the All-Academic Team," said head wrestling coach Blake Heim. "It's not easy to go through a four-month season of practices and competitions all while balancing their classwork and remain n great academic standing."

To be eligible for the ECWC's All-Academic team, wrestlers must have a 3.30 cumulative GPA or higher or have maintained a 3.30 GPA or better over their last two completed semesters. Wrestlers must also have competed in three separate events to gain consideration.
