Panthers Drop Pair on Day 1 of Second AMCC Round Robin

North Brunswick, N.J. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's bowling team kicked off the second AMCC Round Robin on Friday afternoon, dropping both of their matches to Penn State-Altoona and Hilbert.

Bowling in a traditional format, with the winner decided by total pinfall, the Panthers lost to Penn State-Altoona 803-782 and then to Hilbert 747-698.

The Panthers started their trip with a matchup against the Lions. The Panthers had an up-and-down game, but despite a strong score, fell short losing by 21 pins. Brookelyn Garvey had a huge game to start the event, as she posted a 214 in the match. Erin Wales also had a strong match in the leadoff position, bowling to a score of 182 in the loss.

Moving into the second match the Panthers were unable to maintain their form, as four of the five bowlers saw their scores decrease against Hilbert. Wales had the top game for Pitt-Bradford, rolling a 175. Brookelyn Garvey posted a score of 156, while Olivia Shultz was the only Panther to improve in the second match, finishing at 119.

The Panthers will look to get back into the win column tomorrow, as they will bowl in 4 more conference matches. The Panthers will start the day with a bye, before taking on New Jersey City, Penn State-Behrend, Mount Aloysius, and William Smith. The action begins at 10:30 am.
