Panthers Win One of Three at Penn State-Behrend

Erie, PA. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford bowling team wrapped up the Fall half of their season on Saturday, as they took on Penn State-Behrend in a dual match. The Panthers lost a pair of traditional games, before getting a win in a Baker match.

The opening match saw the Panthers fall 722-765. Brookelyn Garvey led the Panthers with a score of 162, while Ekaterina Wilson was just behind her at 161. 

In the second game, the Panthers improved their scoring as a team but still fell 747-761. Sarah Newland posted the high game at 171. Wilson had another strong finish in the 3rd position, bowling a 153. 

The Panthers closed the day with a strong performance in a best-of-seven Baker match. Pitt-Bradford started strong with a 178-174 win in game one and then exploded for a 216-179 win in the second game. The hosts got a game back in the third, as the Panthers fell 144-162. The Panthers responded to retake control in the 4th game, winning 163-157, and then closed the match with a 174-169 win in the 5th.

The Panthers head into their winter break with a 15-26 record. They will return to action in the new year, when they host a rematch with the Lions on January 20th. The dual match will take place at Billye Lanes in Bradford and start at 1:00 p.m.
