Panthers to Face Juniata with Best Start in Program History on the Line

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Women's Basketball team will host Juniata College on Saturday, looking to move to 3-0 for the first time since becoming an NCAA program.

The Panthers picked up their second win of the season on Thursday, defeating Penn State-DuBois 73-63. The Panthers jumped out to a 15 point first-quarter lead and were able to maintain it for the remainder of the game. Freshman Hannah Lary led the Panthers, nearly recording a triple-double. She finished with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Cassidy King recorded her first career double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.

Through two games, The Panthers are averaging 72 points per game, shooting 35% from the field and 28.9% from beyond the arc. Lary is the Panthers' leading scorer, averaging 19.0 points per game, she leads the AMCC. She also leads the team in assists per game with 6.5. Cailey Barnett is the only other Panther who averaged double digits so far, scoring 11.5. Cassidy King leads the conference in rebounds, grabbing 17.0 per contest.

The Juniata Eagles enter the game with an 0-1 record after dropping their season opener 75-63 to Saint Vincent. Haily Sherman led the Eagles with 18 points, while Grace Long added 13 more. Sherman was also Juniata's leading rebounder, grabbing 13 in the game.

The following regulations will be in place to align with Pitt-Bradford's COVID-19 mitigation efforts for indoor events. All spectators, game staff, officials, and team members not actively participating on the court are required to wear a mask at all times. Masks must be affixed to cover the wearer's nose and mouth. All spectators will be required to sign in upon their entrance into the facility, as the lists will be used in any contact tracing efforts that may become necessary. They will be required to provide a name and contact phone number to game staff.

Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
