STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team returned it its winning ways with an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory at Franciscan Saturday, 77-51.

"We played well as a team today," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "A lot of positives to take from game today. Balanced scoring, rebounding and team defense led us to this win."

With the victory, Pitt-Bradford improves to 4-1 in AMCC action and 4-5 overall, while Franciscan moves to 0-5 AMCC and 0-9 overall.

The Panthers sit tied with Hilbert and La Roche atop the AMCC standings.

Latifah Cain and Etreece Adams led the way for the Panthers with 17 points apiece while Shirleah Ragin dropped 14 points.

Jennifer Isenberg pulled in a team-best 11 rebounds and Jasmin Miller had 10 boards.

The Panthers forced 25 Franciscan turnovers and turned those into 31 points.

Shaelyn Snipes, Cain, Ragin and Miller collected two steals apiece.

The opening minutes saw a close contest but Pitt-Bradford eventually pulled ahead, outscoring the Barons 24-14 in the first quarter.

The Panthers then kept it rolling into the second and eventually took a 47-27 lead into the half. 

Pitt-Bradford then held Franciscan to just 11 points in the third quarter and then 13 in the fourth to hang on and complete the 77-51 victory.

The Panthers outshot Franciscan 40.5 percent (30-74) to 30.2 percent (16-53).

The 16 field goals made by the Barons are the fewest allowed by the Panther defense in a single game this season, besting the 17 made by Penn State-Behrend (Dec. 1).

Pitt-Bradford blocked 10 shots led by four from Jenna Hicks — tying Isenberg's team season high set against Medaille (Nov. 28).

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will be off from competition until the new year when Alfred State comes to the KOA Arena on Jan. 2. The Panthers were originally scheduled to play Manhattanville Monday, but that contest has been postponed.
