ERIE, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team picked up its second-straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference win Saturday at Penn State-Behrend.

The Panthers (2-4, 2-0 AMCC) used a strong fourth quarter to defeat the Lions (1-5, 0-2 AMCC) 62-52.

"We played it very close in the first half," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "Lack of discipline and rebounding prevented us from pulling away. But our fourth-period run helped us prevail. We were able to get stops down the stretch and were efficient on offense. We're continuing to learn and get better every day."

After the first week of conference play, Pitt-Bradford sits tied with Hilbert and La Roche atop the AMCC standings at 2-0.

Shirleah Ragin led all scorers for the second-straight game, this time scoring 18 points.

Shaelyn Snipes dropped 16 points while Etreece Adams collected a double-double of 10 points and 11 boards.

Latifah Cain was also in double-figure scoring with 11 points.

The Panther offense came out strong in the first period, connecting on 8-16 attempts from the floor. 

Ragin highlighted the team's offensive performance in the period as she knocked down a pair of three-pointers, guiding the Panthers to an 18-14 advantage heading into the second.

The Lions locked in and held Pitt-Bradford to just four field goals in the second period while taking the scoring advantage, 13-11. 

Pitt-Bradford held a narrow 29-27 lead into halftime.

Ragin led all scorers at the break with 10 points in the first half while Adams and Snipes had eight apiece.

Behrend then shot 11 free throws and connected on a three-pointer to highlight a strong third period, outscoring Pitt-Bradford 14-9 and taking a 41-38 advantage into the final period.

But the fourth period was all Panthers.

Pitt-Bradford held Behrend to 4-18 (22.2 percent) shooting in the period. 

Cain led the squad offensively with a 4-5 shooting performance to highlight a period in which Pitt-Bradford put Behrend away by outscoring them 24-11 in the period.

In all, the Panther defense held Behrend to 27.9 percent shooting and forced 17 Lion turnovers.

Jennifer Isenberg chipped in nine rebounds for the Panthers.

Up next, Pitt-Bradford will look for its third-straight win as it heads to Penn State-Altoona for an AMCC contest Wednesday.
