BRADFORD, Pa – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team picked up its third-straight win in commanding fashion as it topped Pitt-Greensburg, 74-56, Saturday at the KOA Arena in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game.
"Tonight, we played hard and played together," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "A lot of players stepped up and as a team, and we stayed composed and disciplined."
Jennifer Isenberg led the way with her sixth double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Ali Rinfrette scored 18, Shaelyn Snipes had 13 and Etreece Adams scored 11 to round out the Panthers scoring in double-figures.
For Adams, her 11 points set a new career-high.
With the victory, the Panthers improve to 7-7 on the season and 5-4 in AMCC play.
As a team, the Panthers shot 49.1 percent (27-55) for the team's best shot percentage so far this season.
The Pitt-Bradford defense held the Bobcats to just 26.2 percent shooting from the floor (16-61), the lowest shot percentage a team has recorded against the Panther defense so far this season.
The Panthers came out of the gate strong, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor on 7-13 shooting in the first quarter.
Pitt-Bradford won the first quarter, 17-10, and got four points apiece from Snipes, Bri Wells, and Rinfrette.
The Panthers put together a strong second quarter and earned another seven-point advantage, outscoring the Bobcats, 19-12, in the frame.
Isenberg took over in the quarter, scoring nine points on 3-4 shooting, including a three-pointer. Foul trouble sent her to the bench, though, as she put up the strong offensive numbers in just five minutes played in the second period.
Pitt-Bradford held an 18-point advantage after a layup from Lyric Collins and a pair at the free-throw line from Rinfrette, 36-18, with just over a minute left in the half.
But four Greensburg points before the end of the half sent the two teams to the locker rooms with Pitt-Bradford ahead, 36-22.
The third quarter saw a low-scoring period, but the Panthers still managed to build their lead.
Rinfrette scored five points, including a connection from long range, and Allison Guengerich dropped four points in the quarter to lead Pitt-Bradford to a 50-34 advantage heading into the final frame.
After back-to-back 12-point quarters, Pitt-Greensburg earned its best quarter of the day but 10 points in the fourth as it scored 22 points.
But Pitt-Bradford took care of business and closed out the game strong, scoring 25 points in the frame led by seven apiece from Rinfrette and Snipes to earn the commanding 75-56 win.
Pitt-Bradford won the rebound battle, 43-36. In addition to Isenberg's 10 boards, Rinfrette collected six misses while Snipes and Adams had five boards apiece.
Rinfrette dished out a game-high five assists while Wells tossed four.
Up next, the Panthers will head to Hilbert for an AMCC matchup Wednesday in search of its fourth-straight win.
