STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team led wire-to-wire and picked up its third-straight win in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game at Franciscan Saturday.

"We did a great job defensively today," Head Coach Sharay Hall said. "We capitalized well on turnovers and steals."

With the victory, the Panthers improved to 2-1 in AMCC games and 4-3 overall. 

Ali Rinfrette led the Panthers with 18 points and dished three assists to lead the Panthers.

Aria Alston-Smith scored 15 points while also grabbing a team-best 10 boards for a double-double.

Brittany Button scored 12 points in the first half to lead the Panthers through the first two quarters.

The Panthers put together a strong offensive showing in the first quarter to jump out to a hot start, grabbing an 8-1 lead capped by back-to-back three-pointers from Anna Colebert and Rinfrette just over two minutes into the game. 

Pitt-Bradford clung to the comfortable lead for much for the first quarter with its offense highlighted by a three-ball from Allison Guengerich that put the Panthers up 15 points, 24-9, at the 5:16 mark. 

A layup from Button at the 1:37 mark capped the scoring for the Panthers in the first and Pitt-Bradford went on to hold a 29-15 lead into the second quarter.

Button stayed hot into the ensuing quarter, scoring eight points in the second period – including a layup to beat the buzzer -- to eventually help the Panthers take a commanding 41-20 lead into halftime.

15 seconds into the second half, Mariah Monroe knocked down a jumper to get things started for the Panthers.

Buckets by Jennifer Isenberg and Rinfrette helped the Panthers outscore the Barons 12-11 the quarter and keep the comfortable lead, heading into the fourth quarter ahead, 53-31.

The Panthers went out with a bang and ended the way they started with 29 points in the fourth quarter, matching their first-quarter total and eventually hang on for the convincing 82-43 win.

Alston-Smith and Shaelyn Snipes knocked down three-pointers to highlight the Panthers' scoring in the quarter.

Pitt-Bradford dominated the boards, grabbing 47 to the Barons' 41.

The Panthers also forced 35 turnovers while only turning the ball over eight times themselves. Rinfrette grabbed seven steals while Smith had five and the Panthers as a team earned 24 steals for 34 points of turnovers.

Pitt-Bradford will be in action next on Saturday, Dec. 16, as Mount Aloysius comes to the KOA Arena.
