Medaille dealt the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team its first loss in seven games Wednesday night, 78-58.

The Mavericks scored 21 of the game's first 26 points and never looked back, building a 25-point halftime lead. The Panthers were dismal from the field, particularly in the first half, as they managed to connect on just nine of their first 33 attempts.

Shots started to fall for Pitt-Bradford in the second half, but it was too little, too late. For the game, the Blue and Gold shot just 35 percent.

The Mavericks dominated inside, outscoring the Panthers by 18 in the paint and pulling down 22 more rebounds, including 18 offensive boards that led to 22 second-chance points. The Mavericks eventually cooled off after a blistering start and shot 39 percent from the floor. They were 16-23 from the free throw line.

In comparison, the Panthers attempted just eight free throws and failed to generate turnovers at the rate they had during their six-game winning streak.

Ali Rinfrette led Pitt-Bradford with 14 points, Brittany Watts added 13, and Anna Colebert had 12 off the bench. Darien Lantz totaled six assists, and Kaserra Owens collected five steals.

Pitt-Bradford falls to 8-6 on the season and 6-2 in the AMCC. The Panthers will look to bounce back Saturday at Pitt-Greensburg.
