UPB Women Fall at PSU Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team (15-6, 11-3) couldn't overcome a strong Lion's second half, falling 64-57 at Penn State Altoona (5-16, 5-10) on Saturday afternoon.

Ali Rinfrette led the Panthers with a double-double, posting 14 points and 10 rebounds. Abby Brate followed with 11 points and four assists while Darien Lantz followed with seven points. Brittany Watts and Anna Colebert added six points each and combined for 13 rebounds. The Panthers were without reigning AMCC Player of the Week Kaserra Owens for the second straight game.

Nicole Gripp led the Lion's offense with 14 points and four assists while Megan Wheeler followed with 13 points and eight rebounds. Brittany Boslet rounded out the Lion's in double figures with 11 points and eight rebounds in the victory.

Despite losing the game, Pitt Bradford led by as many as 10 with 3:44 left in the first half.

However, much like in the men's game, Penn State Altoona proved to be a much better team in the second half.

The Lions outscored the Panthers 20-8 in the third quarter to capture the lead, and never gave it back.

The Panthers return to action Wednesday night at D'Youville at eight.
