UPB Women Drop Pitt-Greensburg

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team avenged a loss at Pitt-Greensburg earlier this season by knocking off the Bobcats 81-67 on Saturday afternoon at the KOA Arena.

Ali Rinfrette led the Panthers offense yet again, scoring 25 points and adding five boards while Kaserra Owens followed with 18 points. Abby Brate added 11 points and a team-high seven assists and five steals. Anna Colebert chipped in with seven points and Desiree Hull played well defensively in the victory. 

"We definitely got out to a sluggish start," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Sean Brown Sr. "Kaserra definitely kept us alive with her electrifying play. Ali had a few good offensive possessions, which got her going and Abby played great all around again. She sparked our big run in the third quarter with a few steals and layups."

Kelsey Oddis led the Bobcats with a double-double, including 16 points and 10 rebounds. Emily Nelson followed with 14 points while Sylvia Stuart rounded out the Bobcats in double-figures with 11 points in the loss. 

Pitt-Bradford got out to a rough start, shooting just 20% from beyond the arc in the in the opening 20 minutes.

Pitt-Greensburg had much more success from long-range, going 9-15 from three-point land in the opening half, leading to a 37-32 advantage at the half. 

The second half was a much different story as the Panthers came out of the locker room on fire, outscoring the Bobcats 26-13 in the third quarter to take a 58-50 lead into the fourth quarter.

"We continue to get great production from somebody new off of the bench each game. Today it was Desiree Hull," Brown said. "She did a terrific job defending the post and forced them to take some bad shots in the second half." 

Pitt-Bradford's second half success continued in the final quarter as they outscored Pitt-Greensburg 23-17 in the final 10 minutes to capture the 81-67 victory.

The Panthers continue AMCC play Wednesday night as they host Hilbert at six in the KOA Arena.
