LaRoche Hangs on, Tops UPB Women 79-74

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Women's basketball team (10-5, 6-2) had its winning streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon. After the women tallied up 4-straight conference wins, they suffered a setback on the road vs. La Roche at a final score of 79-74.

Panthers guard Ali Rinfrette led the team with 36 points, including 10 points from the free-throw line. Senior point guard Abby Brate posted 9 points, going 4-8 from the field while also leading the team in assists with 4.

La Roche had 5 players in double figures in points, including Sabrina McLin, who led the team with 18 points. McLin shot 7-9 and had 4 steals. Forward Danasha Harris posted 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and an impressive 6 steals.

La Roche shot a remarkable 53.8% from the field (28-52), while the Panthers shot 41% (25-61). While the Panthers had 6 three-pointers, they shot 24 from beyond the arc, making it 25% from 3-point land. It was an exciting game and went back-and-forth with 12 lead changes. While the Panthers scored 25 points in the second quarter, La Roche outscored Pitt-Brad in the other 3 quarters. 

The Panthers look to get back to their winning ways when they go on the road again on Monday against conference foe Medaille.
