ERIE, Pa. - The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team picked up a key early season road victory, dropping AMCC foe Penn State Behrend, 53-46, Wednesday night at the Junker Center. 

Kaserra Owens led the way for the Panthers with a double-double, posting 13 points and a team-high 11 boards. Ali Rinfrette followed with 11 points and seven boards while Darien Lantz added 10 points and three steals. Abby Brate finished with a team-high six assists and Kennedy Cratty had a huge game off of the bench with eight points and five boards in the victory. 

"Kaserra was terrific for us again tonight, picking up another double-double," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Sean Brown Sr. "She's really stepped up and has been a great leader for our team. Ali played well again and I was really happy with Kennedy's performance off of the bench. She hit some huge free throws for us to ice the game down the stretch." 

The Panther's defense proved to be the difference yet again, as coach Brown's unit forced 24 turnovers, scoring 22 points off of Penn State Behrend miscues in the victory. The Lions scored just five points on UPB's 11 turnovers. 

"Our defense was outstanding yet again," Brown said. "We forced a lot of turnovers and it made them take some shots they didn't want to take." 

The lead changed hand 13 times with Penn State Behrend leading by eight at the half. 

Pitt-Bradford came out of the locker room on a tear, outscoring the Lions 21-13 in the third quarter and then securing the victory with a 14-7 advantage in the fourth quarter. 

Anna Colebert came off the bench and hit a huge three to give the Panthers the lead for with just under four minutes left in the game. 

"Anna has the ability to knock down shots and tonight she hit a big one for us," Brown said. "That shot was huge for us and sparked a run for us during a one possession game." 

The Panthers also held the Lions to just 1-12 from beyond the arc while Pitt-Bradford knocked down five three-pointers in the victory. 

Pitt-Bradford continues AMCC play Saturday at 3 p.m. at Pitt-Greensburg.
