Cordova and McLaughlin Earn All-AMCC Honors

Bradford, Pa. – A pair of softball players for the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford were recognized by the AMCC on Tuesday as they were named all-conference honorees for the 2023 season.

Senior Chloe Cordova and Junior Faith McLaughlin both earned a spot on the all-conference teams as outfielders. Cordova was voted to the 2nd team, marking her first appearance in the end-of-season all-conference honors. McLaughlin earned a spot on the 3rd team for the second time in her career after making the same team during the 2021 season.

Cordova, a senior from Tucson, Az. hit .370 for the Panthers this season, recording a team-leading 44 hits with 23 runs scored, 22 runs batted in, and 11 extra-base hits, including her first career home run. In AMCC play, she hit .500 with 23 hits, the 3rd most against conference opponents. Cordova was a mainstay in center field for the Panthers, tracking down 62 putouts and accumulating 10 outfield assists. She was named AMCC Player of the Week one time and was voted Pitt-Bradford Female Athlete of the Year.

McLaughlin is a junior, also from Tucson, Az. She finished the season with a .381 batting average with 29 runs scored, 14 runs batted in, and 3 triples. She also stole 16 bases, which was the 2nd highest total in the AMCC. In AMCC play, she hit .514 which was the 2nd highest batting average against conference opponents. Defensively, she split time between left field and shortstop, committing 4 errors between both positions.  She was named AMCC Player of the Week one time and was named to the All-Tournament team for the AMCC Championship Tournament.

The Panthers finished the season with an 11-27 record, including a 6-8 mark in AMCC play. They earned the 5th seed in the AMCC tournament, bowing out in the second round.
