Wentzel Named AMCC Softball Player of the Week

Bradford, Pa. -- University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball player Daytona Wentzel earned conference recognition on Monday as she was named AMCC Player of the Week for her performance between March 19th and 26th.

Wentzel hit .556 over four games for Pitt-Bradford last week. She was 5-for-9 with two RBI, one run scored, and one stolen base. Wentzel reached base at a .545 clip and slugged .667. She also had a flawless week in the field. Wentzel currently leads the AMCC in hits (21) and runs batted in (15) and is third in batting average (.488).

This is the first time the senior has won player of the week honors in her career. She is the second Panther softball player to win the award, as Chloe Cordova was named conference player of the week on March 6th.

The Panthers are scheduled to begin their AMCC schedule this Saturday with a trip to Cresson, Pa. to take on Mount Aloysius.
