14 Panthers Named to Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete List

Louisville, Ky.—While the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team had a historic season in 2021, their success was not limited to the field, as they have received recognition for their work in the classroom in the last year.

On Tuesday, Easton and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released their annual list of All-America Scholar Athletes, which included 14 Panther players, a new program record for one year. The Organizations recognize student-athletes who earn a GPA higher than 3.5 for the academic year. As a team, the Panthers had a GPA of 3.59, which was the 51st best average in Division III.

“I am always proud of our team and the commitment they give in the classroom and on the field. This team rose to the challenge this past year in an ever-changing learning environment during a pandemic,” said Head Coach Tina Phillips.

2021 graduates Jessica Milliron, Jordan Uhing, and Kerrigan Hoffman were all honored for the third time, and fellow class of 2021 teammates Gabby Carpenter and Mackenzie Bonyak made the list for the second time. First-time honorees for the Panthers were Chloe Cordova, Marguerite DeFranco, Abby Hinkley, Katie Marx, Lexi Peters, Rachel Przybysz, Ashley Stein, Daytona Wentzel, and Sadie Wood.

“These 14 have raised the bar for us, and it's great for them to be honored by the NFCA for their efforts," added Phillips, who has seen a total of 81 student-athletes achieve the honor since 2003-04.
