Three Pitt-Bradford Softball Players Earn NFCA Academic Honor

Three members of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford softball team earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athlete honors for the 2014-15 academic year.

Amber Fox (athletic training), Linnea Pollock (health and physical education), and Ang Comilla (criminal justice) earned the NFCA honor for their success in the classroom. Student athletes must achieve a 3.5 GPA in order to be recognized.

"Academics has always been a point of emphasis within the Pitt-Bradford softball team," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Tina Phillips. "I am very proud of Ang, Amber, and Linnea, as well as all of our players for their dedication in the classroom."

A total of 38 players have received NFCA academic honors during Phillips' tenure as head softball coach.

As a team, the Panthers finished the academic year with a 3.1 GPA.
