Stenta, Bell and Lucke grab All-Conference honors

BRADFORD, PA – Three members of the Pitt-Bradford softball team received all-conference honors for the 2015 season as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

The Panthers had one player named to each of the three conference selection teams. Headlining the list of selections were senior Bri Stenta (Ridgway/Ridgway) who received First Team All-AMCC, junior Leann Bell (Lance/West Branch) was selected Second Team All-AMCC, and senior Heidi Lucke (Canton, MI/Canton) received Third Team All-AMCC honors.

Stenta finished the year with the highest batting average in the conference batting .485. Stenta led the Panthers in several different offensive categories, including batting average, on-base percentage (.518), slugging percentage (.699), RBIs (29), hits (50) and doubles (7). Stenta also excelled on defense, posting a .939 fielding percentage and covered gap-to-gap in center field.

Bell finished off a great junior season and received Second Team All-AMCC honors as an outfielder. Bell was a force in the middle of the Pitt-Bradford lineup this season, driving in 25 RBIs this season, which was second on the Panthers and 15th in the AMCC. Bell also posted the second best batting average on the team (.404) and finished second on the team in hits (40), slugging percentage (515) and doubles (6).

Lucke finished the year receiving Third Team All-AMCC honors. This season Lucke helped the Panthers in a designated hitter's role as she posted big offensive numbers. At the plate, Lucke finished with a .310 batting average, posted 13 RBIs, had an on-base percentage of .400 and a .414 slugging percentage.

The Panthers finished the season with a 12-20 overall record while going 6-12 in the conference. The Panthers missed the AMCC Tournament this season, but head coach Tina Phillips and her squad had a successful season.
