Men's Tennis Drops Pair to Mounties

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team was back in action on Saturday, as they hosted Mount Aloysius in two matches, losing both 6-3.

Match 1: Mount Aloysius 6 - Pitt-Bradford 3

The Panthers struggled in doubles play, as their top two pairings were unable to earn a point in 8-0 defeats. The Panthers were able to pick up a win by forfeit in the third pairing.

In singles play, the Panthers lost all four contested matches but picked up two victories by forfeit at the 5th and 6th positions. Jermal Coleman had the strongest outing in the match, losing 3-6, 1-6 in the fourth pairing.

Match 2: Mount Aloysius 6 - Pitt-Bradford 3.

The Panthers improved in the second match, despite seeing the same result. In the second match, Jason Gao and Alexander Maduakor were able to pick up two points in the first position, while Hugh Kennedy and Patrick Tolerico earned 3 points. 

Jason Gao was forced to retire through injury after dropping set one 3-6 in the first singles pairing. The Panthers were unable to win any games in the 2nd and 3rd pairings but were able to get 3 points from Hugh Kennedy in a 3-6, 0-6 loss at number 4. 

Once again the Panthers picked up 3 victories, 1 in doubles and 2 in singles, via forfeit.

The Panthers fall to 0-3 on the season after the doubleheader. They will return to action Sunday, September 25th as they travel to Pitt-Greensburg for an AMCC matchup.
