Men's Tennis Taken Down by Penn State Altoona

Bradford, PA -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Men's Tennis team lost to Penn State Altoona 8-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action on Saturday.

Senior Jeffrey Kocjancic picked up the lone point for the Panthers as he dominated his match at #2 singles, winning 6-2, 6-0. Kojancic has led the team in wins this season, picking up 2.

Jacob Volz also put in a strong showing in the #1 position. After losing the first set 2-6, Volz battled back to win the second set 6-4 and force a tiebreaking set with Penn State Altoona's top player. He was unable to hold on in the tiebreaker, as he fell by a score of 10-5.

Before the match, the Panthers celebrated graduating seniors. Kocjancic, Volz, Noah Bartholomew, and Drew Patla were all recognized for their contributions to the program for the past 4 years.

The loss moves the Panthers to 0-7 on the year. They are scheduled to bring the fall season to a close on Saturday, October 26th, when they will travel to Erie, PA to take on Penn State Behrend.
