Panthers Wrap Up Regular Season Against Mount Aloysius Friday

OLEAN, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team wrapped up its 2018-19 season hosting Mount Aloysius at the St. Bonaventure Tennis Center Friday.

The Panthers (1-9, 1-5 AMCC) dropped their season finale 9-0 to the Mounties.

"We improved on returns and hit our groundstrokes," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said. "With most of our matches being played in the Fall next year, it will be about the possibilities and not the limitations that come with the experience."

In doubles action, the duo of Jacob Volz and Matt Dennis worked a close match in their No. 1 doubles match but fell, 8-4.

Brandon Charnisky and Noah Bartholomew also had a competitive match at No. 3 doubles, 8-3.

In No. 5 singles, Bartholomew put together a strong showing but narrowly fell 6-3, 6-3.

Volz also gave his opponent a competitive battle in the top spot but lost 6-2, 6-3.

Prior to the start of the match, Pitt-Bradford honored senior Matt Dennis, who played in his final home match as a Panther.

"Matt played his last match as a senior," Schenfield said. "Through his years as a Panther, he prided himself on his willingness to leave no stone unturned. He is a good player with an unbelievable run. As a team, playing a majority of the matches in the Fall with a limited number in the Spring was longer than any road ever taken."
