Panthers Wrap Up Weekend Home Series With Bethany Sunday

OLEAN, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team wrapped up its weekend home series hosting Bethany Sunday at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center.

Bethany topped the Panthers, 8-1.

"What makes Jake so tough to play is how unique his game is," Head Coach Susan Schenfield said. "He redirects pace, he's efficient at cutting off the court and coming in. He mixes up the tempo well. As a team, we were more consistent, aggressive and were finishing our shots."

The Panthers' lone victory came from Matt Dennis in the No. 3 singles spot, which came by forfeit.

The No. 1 singles matchup with Jacob Volz worked a competitive match but fell 7-6(5), 6-4.

In doubles action, the No. 1 tandem of Volz and Dennis gave their competition a tough match, 8-4.

The No. 2 doubles matchup featuring the Panthers team of Drew Patla of Jeffrey Kocjancic also worked a competitive match, 8-3.

With the decision, Bethany improves to 3-2 overall and the Panthers fall to 1-7.

Noah BartholomewBrandon Charnisky and Jonathan Azcona also competed for the Panthers.
