Geneva Tops Panthers, 7-2

ERIE, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team fell, 7-2, to Geneva Saturday afternoon at the Penn State-Behrend courts.

The Panthers claimed a win in No. 1 doubles by the team of Tyler Dugan and Jacob Volz.

"Tyler and Jake did an excellent job of mixing consistent baseline play with strong net play," Coach Jordan Dugan said. "The combination of that and well-placed serves led them to their victory."

Pitt-Bradford also captured a singles win at the No. 2 position from Volz.

"Jake took advantage of his opponent's weaker shots and used strong volleys to put points away," Dugan said. "Jake played extremely well down the stretch of the match and overcame a 5-1 deficit to win, 8-5."

Tyler Dugan was close to giving the Panthers a third point in the No. 1 singles spot but narrowly fell, 8-6.
