Pitt-Bradford Opens AMCC Play in Winning Fashion

The Pitt-Bradford men's tennis team opened AMCC play Friday night by defeating Pitt-Greensburg 5-4.

The Panthers opened the match by taking two of three in doubles. The duo of Kosta Teverovskiy and Tyler Dugan won on tiebreaker 8-7, and John Parsell and Tyler Richmond prevailed 8-4.

In singles action, Pitt-Bradford dropped three of the first four matches, but Parsell and Alex Jadlowiec scored victories in the No. 5 and 6 flights to secure the win. Dugan won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0, Parsell rallied to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, and Jadlowiec was a 7-5, 6-2 victor.

"Our No. 1 doubles team played strong right from the first serve," head coach Susan Schenfield said. "As a team our ground strokes were solid, and our put away volleys were crucial to our success."

Pitt-Bradford improves to 2-3 on the season and will Alfred Tuesday at 6 p.m.
