UPB Men's Tennis Wins Home Opener

OLEAN, N.Y. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season, topping D'Youville College 5-4 in their home opener on Thursday evening.

John Parsell led the Panthers, winning at fifth singles (4-6, 7-5, 6-0) and then teaming with Rilan Galicic to win 8-4 at second doubles.

"We stayed positive even when doubts were a bit strong during some important points," said Pitt-Bradford head coach Susan Schenfield. "John played aggressive with service returns, picking spots to attack and gave himself a chance to win the third set and the match for us."

The Panthers enjoyed great success in the singles events. Kosta Teverosky, Jordan Dugan, Sam Buck and John Parsell picked up singles victories to secure the 5-4 victory.

The Panthers return to action Saturday night against Penn State Altoona at 5:30 in Olean.
