Panthers claim their first win of the season over Houghton, 9-2.

CANEADEA, N.Y. – The Pitt-Bradford men's tennis team traveled to Houghton College and fell to the Highlanders, 9-0.

The Panthers started out the match slow as the team of Kosta Teverovskiy (Plains, N.Y./Harrion) and sophomore Jordan Dugan (Galeton/Galeton) put up a good fight in the number one slot but ultimately fell to the Highlanders, 8-3.

The Panthers struggled with unforced errors and missed opportunities as they failed to capture a victory against Houghton.

The singles competition did not go much better for the Panthers as they dropped six straight matches to the Highlanders.

Pitt-Bradford could not get the ball rolling in today's matches as they could not get any momentum going in their favor against a very good Houghton team.

Pitt-Bradford head coach Susan Schenfield said, "We need to stick to our game plan instead of reacting to the result of a shot. Losing a point on committing an unforced error has to be wiped from our minds immediately. Everything will then click on the court when we stop overthinking. Good players have short memories."

The Panthers will take the court again as they host Penn State Behrend on April 10 at 6 p.m.
