Swimmers Wrap Up Season at Final Day of Allegheny Empire Swimming and Diving Championship

Webster, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's swim teams brought their season to a close at the fourth and final day of the Allegheny Empire Swimming and Diving Championships. The men finished in 8th place overall and 4th in the AMCC while the women finished in 10th overall and 6th in the AMCC.

  • Carey Behm started the day with the long-distance 1650-yard freestyle. He finished in 14th place with a time of 17:55.16.
  • Lauren Kahle then represented the women's team in the 100-yard freestyle. she finished in 19th with a time of 1:05.26.
  • Tyler Sortore finished the 200-yard backstroke in 2:08.45. His time placed him in 12th place.
  • The final event of the day was the men's 400-yard freestyle relay. They took 8th place with a tie of 3:40.53.

With their performance on Saturday, the men's team was able to surpass SUNY Delhi to clinch 8th place in the meet overall and 4th in the conference. They finished with 210 points overall and 131 in the AMCC portion of the competition. The women finished in 10th and 6th with 17 points in the overall competition and 18 points in the AMCC.
