Swim Teams Drop Match at Alfred State

Alfred, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's swim teams kicked off a busy weekend with losses to Alfred State on Friday night. The women fell 123-16 and the men lost 124-41.

The Panthers saw the most success in the sprint freestyle events. For the women, Lauryn Kahle finished in third but was less than a second behind the winner in the 50-yard freestyle. In the same event on the men's side, Carey Behm was out-touched at the wall, finishing in second only 0.05 seconds off the winner. Christopher Troll finished in third 0.65 seconds later. Behm also had a strong performance in the 100-yard freestyle. He finished in 3rd out of 5 competitors with a time of 54.09 seconds. 

The Panthers will be right back in action as they are scheduled to host Penn State-Behrend tomorrow afternoon. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Paul C. Duke III Aquatic Center.
