Pitt-Bradford Swimming Programs Kick-Off Season with Panther Relays

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's and women's swimming teams kicked off their seasons by hosting the Panther Relays on Saturday. They hosted the Penn State Altoona men's and women's teams and the women's team from Franciscan University. The Pitt-Bradford men's team finished in second, with the women in third. As the name suggests, the teams competed only in relay events for the day.

The Panthers were able to pick up victory points in three different events. They were first able to win the Men's 3 x 100 Butterfly relay. The team of CJ Faris, Tyler Sortore, and Christopher Troll finished the race with a time of 3:15.80. Both teams were able to pick up wins in the 3 x 100-yard backstroke event. The women's team of Adriana Gallas, Ambria Richardson, and Ellery Signor finished with a time of 4:43.57. They finished five seconds ahead of Franciscan's team. The men's team won the same event with a time of 3:08.76. Sortore, Carey Behm, and Caleb Hansen swam in the relay team for the Panthers. They beat their opponents from Penn State Altoona by 12.5 seconds. 

Combined the teams compiled 108 points. The men's team picked up 74, while the women's added 34.

They will have two weeks off before their next meet. Their next event will be a home meet on Saturday, October, 26th. They will host Penn State Altoona and Delhi.
