Rider Named AMCC Offensive Player of the Week

Bradford, Pa. -- Senior Chase Rider of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team was recognized by the AMCC on Monday as he was named Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Rider was integral in the Panthers' 7-1 dismantling of LaRoche on Saturday. He scored 4 goals in the game and added an assist to lead the Panthers to victory. He scored all four goals on only 4 shots. For his first tally, Rider dribbled through and around two LaRoche Defenders before calmly slotting a shot into the far corner. His second goal came on a one-touch poke past an onrushing goalkeeper, and he finished his hat-trick from the penalty spot. Rider's final goal of the day came in the second half, when he headed a Scott Compson cross into the goal from close range.

Rider, who before the season began was named AMCC Co-Offensive Player of the Year has lived up to the early season honor, as he currently leads the AMCC in goals with 12, and is tied at the top of the conference in points with 29. Along with his being at the top of the AMCC, he is also at or near the top of numerous national statistics. His 29 total points and 3.22 points per game lead the country, while he is 2nd in total goals and 4th in goals per game.

Rider is the second Panther to earn Player of the Week honors this season.

The Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Erie to take on Penn State-Behrend. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
