Three Panthers Earn All-AMCC Honors

Bradford, Pa. -- The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released its men's soccer All-Conference selections on Tuesday and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford saw three players recognized. 

Senior Chase Rider was the first Panther honored after a historic season. Rider was named 1st Team All-Conference at the forward position. Rider scored 22 goals on the season and assisted on 10 more, both setting program records for a single season. Rider was named AMCC Offensive Player of the Week three times. He was also recognized nationally, winning the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week on October, 20. In two matches, Rider scored 6 goals and assisted on 5, totaling 17 points on the week. Rider currently leads the NCAA in points per game with 3.60. 

Newcomer Jan Winnewisser was named to the 2nd team as a midfielder. While directing much of the Panthers' attack from the midfield, Winnewisser scored 5 goals and added 7 assists. He was also 2nd on the team in shots, with 31. Winnewisser had his best game of the season in the Panthers' 8-0 victory over Penn State Altoona. Winnewisser scored once and assisted on three Panther goals in the game.

The final Panther to be recognized was junior Scott Compson, who was named to the third team. Compson finished the season 2nd on the team in goals with 8 and added 4 assists. He scored 2 game-winning goals. The first was in the final seconds of a 1-0 victory over Thiel, and the second capped off a 2 goal comeback in the Panthers' 4-3 conference opener over Alfred State.
