Archie Named AMCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Bradford, Pa. -- Freshman Isaiah Archie of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team was named AMCC Player of the Week on Monday after a high-scoring week in conference play.

Archie averaged 32.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Panthers. The freshman shot 62.5% from the field while averaging 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Archie scored 33 points and recorded six rebounds and seven assists while playing all 40 minutes in the Panthers' midweek win over Alfred State. In the loss to Penn State-Altoona, Archie scored 32 while making 14-of-18 shots from the field, while also adding six rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Archie currently leads the AMCC in scoring, as he averages 23.9 points per game. His scoring average is also the 11th best in NCAA DIII.

This is the first time the freshman has won the Player of the Week Award, but the third time it has been won by a Panther this season.

Archie, and the rest of the Panthers, will have a midweek bye for final exams but will return to action on Saturday, December 18th as they will host Pitt-Greensburg at 4:00 p.m. in KOA Arena.
