Panthers Host Hilbert in Must Win Game

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team will bring its regular season to a close on Wednesday night, as they will take on Hilbert in a must-win game for the Panthers.

The Panthers are 9-15 on the season with a 4-11 mark in AMCC play. They are currently in 8th place and a game and a half out of the final playoff spot.  On Monday, the Panthers lost a hard-fought battle to LaRoche 91-78. Isaiah Archie led the way with 26 points on 11-17 from the field. Nathan Schneider finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds, marking his 17th double-double in 24 games. Trey Oyler added 13, making 5-9 from the field, including 3-5 from three.

Archie is the leading scorer in the AMCC, averaging 21.8 points per game. He is also 7th in the conference at field goal percentage, as he shoots 55.2% from the field. Schneider is just behind Archie as he has the 2nd highest scoring average in the conference. He scores20.6 per contest and is also the AMCC's leading rebounder at 12.3 per game. Greg Archie is the third Panther to average double-figures this season, as he scores 11.4 per game. Trey Oyler is the most efficient three-point shooter in the conference as he makes 52.4% of his shots from beyond the arc.

Hilbert is 9-14 on the season with a 5-9 record in conference play. They are currently in the 6th and final playoff spot. The Hawks enter the contest after an 82-66 home loss to Penn State-Altoona. the Hawks have two players that average double figures this season. Quran Briggs is the Hawk's top scorer as he averages 12.3 points per game. Shawn Gashi is just behind him at 11.0 points per game. Gashi also leads the team with 65 assists. Edward Perez has been Hilbert's top rebounder as he collects 6.7 rebounds per game.

In their previous matchup, the Panthers picked up a 92-70 victory in Buffalo. The Panthers outscored the Hawks 49-33 in the 2nd half to open up the margin. Greg Archie finished as the leading scorer with 22 points. Isaiah Archie added 21 points and Schneider finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds. 

The following regulations will be in place to align with Pitt-Bradford's COVID-19 mitigation efforts for indoor events. All spectators, game staff, officials, and team members not actively participating on the court are required to wear a mask at all times. Masks must be affixed to cover the wearer's nose and mouth. All spectators will be required to sign in upon their entrance into the facility, as the lists will be used in any contact tracing efforts that may become necessary. They will be required to provide a name and contact phone number to game staff.

Prior to the start of the game, the Panthers will take a moment to recognize current team manager and former player Jeff Fry. Fry has scored 346 points in a panther uniform, shooting 36.15% from the field and 34.02% from three. The guard also collected 69 assists, 64 rebounds, 25 steals, and 6 blocks in three and half seasons with the Panthers.
