Panthers Return to KOA Arena to Host Alfred

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team will play their second home game of the season on Thursday evening, as they will host Alfred University in a final tune-up before AMCC play begins on Saturday.

The Panthers enter the game at 4-2 on the season. Last weekend, the Panthers played in the Harold J. Brodie Tournament hosted by R.I.T. The Panthers erased a 22-point deficit to defeat the hosts in overtime but fell to SUNY Poly in the championship game. Nathan Schneider was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.

Schneider has led the Panthers this season, as he has been named AMCC player of the week twice. He currently leads the AMCC in points per game (23.7) and rebounds per game (10.0). Freshman Isaiah Archie has also been a key cog for the Panthers' early-season success as he is third in the AMCC in points per game with 21.0. Senior Alex Rodriguez is shooting 63.6% from three, the best percentage from deep in the conference.

The Alfred Saxons are 5-1 on the season and have won their past two games heading into the clash. Last Tuesday the Saxons defeated SUNY Geneseo 83-74. Marshall Brewster scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the win. Mike Schmidt and Elliot Bowen also finished in double-figures, scoring 19 and 12 each.

Cole Eells is the Saxons leading scorer this season. The graduate student is averaging 16.3 points per game while shooting 47.8% from the field and 46.3% from three. Brewster is just behind Eells in scoring this season, as he is averaging 16.2 points per game. He is also the team's leading rebounder as he grabs 10.3 rebounds per game.

The following regulations will be in place to align with Pitt-Bradford's COVID-19 mitigation efforts for indoor events. All spectators, game staff, officials, and team members not actively participating on the court are required to wear a mask at all times. Masks must be affixed to cover the wearer's nose and mouth. All spectators will be required to sign in upon their entrance into the facility, as the lists will be used in any contact tracing efforts that may become necessary. They will be required to provide a name and contact phone number to game staff.

The game is scheduled to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in KOA Arena.
