Archie Goes off for 36 as Panthers Beat Keuka

Keuka Park, N.Y. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's basketball team used a late 20-4 run to pick up their third road win of the season, beating Keuka 106-85.

In the win, the Panthers broke into triple digits for the first time since a 111-117 overtime loss in February of 2018.

  • The contest got off to a tight start as the two teams swapped the lead seven times in the opening 7 minutes of play. With 13:17 to go in the half, Nathan Schneider made a basket inside to put the Panthers ahead for the final time. The basket was the second field goal of a 16-0 run that saw the panthers turn a 4-point deficit into a 12-point lead. In the run, Isaiah Archie scored 7 points.
  • With 6:35 to go in the half, lex Rodriguez converted a four-point play to put the Panthers up 15, but the Wolves were able to respond, scoring 7 straight to get back to within single digits. Pitt-Bradford extended their advantage back to 12 points by halftime, as Isaiah Archie scored 8 of the Panthers' final 11 in the half.
  • After the break, the teams traded baskets for the opening 10 minutes, as the Panther lead fluctuated between 9 and 14 points. With 9:18 to go, the Wolves began a comeback that would see them cut the lead down to as few as 5. Archie made two more layups in a 2-minute span, but it was surrounded by two Keuka threes and two free throws, which saw the lead shrink to 83-78.
  • Lennon Lindholm hit a three from the corner, which started the late 20-4 run for the Panthers. The Panthers held the Wolves scoreless from the field for five minutes, which allowed Pitt-Bradford to get out into transition. In the same span, the Panthers scored on 10 of 12 possessions putting the game away.

Isaiah Archie set a new career-high in the game, scoring 36 points. He shot 10-15 from the field and made 16-22 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 4 assists while committing only one turnover. Nathan Schneider put in another impressive performance. He scored 28 points on 12-16 from the field while making all four of his free throw attempts. He also grabbed 10 rebounds, marking his third double-double in four games. Alex Rodriguez was the only other Panther to finish in double figures. He scored 12 points in the game, making 3 of 4 from beyond the arc and three out of three from the line.

The win moves the Panthers to 3-1 on the season. They will have a week off before they return to action next Saturday, November 27th, when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. to play in the Harold J. Brodie Tournament. They will take on the hosts R.I.T. on Saturday, before playing a second game on Sunday, with the matchup yet to be determined. Tipoff for Saturday's game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
