For the second time this season, senior guard Eric Matheson (Ridgway, PA / Ridgway) has been named the AMCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, following a terrific week on the hardwood.

Matheson led the Panthers to a crucial 2-0 week with victories over D'Youville and LaRoche. The Panthers defeated the Spartans 85-75 in the AMCC Game of the Week that featured the two teams battling for the last playoff spot. In the game of the week the senior guard notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

He was also key in the victory over LaRoche, scoring 27 points and adding five assists. Matheson also knocked down 10 of his 12 free throws on the week. He averaged 23.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and played all but 78 of 80 possible minutes. 

Matheson is currently tied for first in scoring in the AMCC averaging 19.7 points per game.

The Panthers continue AMCC play Wednesday against Medaille at 6 p.m. in the KOA Arena.
