Matheson, Rinfrette Named AMCC Player of the Week

Eric Matheson (men's basketball) and Ali Rinfrette (women's basketball) have both been named AMCC Player of the week, following a terrific week on the hardwood.

Matheson averaged 26.3 points per game and nearly eight assists per game in a critical 2-1 week for the Panthers. The Ridgway native led the Panthers with 34 points in a back-and-forth game with first place Hilbert on Jan. 6.

He then posted a double-double in a win over Mount Aloysius (19 points/11 assists) while also adding five blocks, three steals and 11 boards on the defensive end of the floor to help Pitt-Bradford get back on track with two crucial conference victories.

On the women's side, Rinfrette continues to lead a dominant Pitt-Bradford offense, helping the Panthers to a 3-0 week with victories over AMCC opponents, Hilbert, Penn State Altoona, and Mount Aloysius. The sophomore guard led the Panthers in scoring in all three games with 24 points against Hilbert, 20 in a victory over Penn State Altoona, and 22 in a victory over Mount Aloysius.

The Bradford native was also a force on the boards in the Panthers' victory over Mount Aloysius, adding 11 rebounds to complete the double-double. She averaged 22 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game in the Panther's 3-0 week, helping the Panthers to a 5-1 AMCC record so far this season.

The UPB basketball teams continue AMCC play Wednesday evening against D'Youville. The men's game is at 6 p.m. while the women's game follows at 8.
