Miles, Mannering Earn AMCC Weekly Honors

Bradford, Pa. -- The Unversity of Pittsburgh at Bradford baseball team had two pitchers recognized by the AMCC for their Performance in Ft. Myers, Fla. this week.

Senior RHP Alex Miles was named AMCC Pitcher of the Week. Miles pitched two seven-inning complete games while the Panthers were in Ft. Myers, Fla. last week. He posted a 1.29 ERA in two wins, striking out 12 batters while allowing just one walk. Against St. Elizabeth, he allowed just one run on seven hits with zero walks and five strikeouts in a 9-1 victory. He pitched the final game of the week for the Panthers, beating Lasell 6-3. He allowed one earned run on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven.

Freshman RHP Shawn Mannering became the first Panther to be chosen as AMCC Rookie of the Week. Mannering Picked up his first collegiate win, while also recording two saves for the Panthers. He allowed 4 earned runs over three appearances striking out 9 batters while walking just 1. With this recognition, his performance is also forwarded on as a national nominee.

The Panthers are 6-6 on the season after winning 6 out of 9 in Florida. They will return to action next weekend as they travel to Ohio for three games against Defiance, Hiram and Baldwin Wallace.
